Eye examinations are essential for maintaining long-term vision and overall eye health. Our experienced team provides thorough, unrushed assessments that go far beyond standard visual acuity tests. We take the time to understand each patient’s ocular history, lifestyle, and specific concerns, using advanced diagnostic equipment to deliver truly personalised care.

By tailoring each examination, we’re able to detect potential eye conditions early giving us a greater opportunity to intervene and discuss suitable management options. The result is a more accurate, in-depth evaluation that supports long-term eye health and peace of mind.
With our commitment to detail and accuracy, you can feel confident that your eyes are in expert hands
At our practice, we offer both private and NHS eye examinations, suitable for patients of all ages. NHS eye exams focus primarily on basic vision correction and are typically recommended every two years, though the frequency can be increased depending on individual eye health needs. Our private eye examinations include greater flexibility, more advanced testing, and a tailored approach to care.

An OCT scan provides a picture of the layers of your retina for our optometrist to map out their thickness and note any changes, as well as evaluate the health of your optic nerve. Visual field testing is our way of testing ‘out of the corner of your eye’ vision that we sometimes take for granted in our daily life. Both tests are used to help us understand your eye health and visual needs.
1
We begin by discussing your health and vision history, including any concerns or symptoms. This helps us tailor the examination to your needs, ensuring we address all your eye care requirements.
2
Using a combination of professional expertise and diagnostic technology, we’ll check the health of your eyes and look for any signs of abnormalities and other medical conditions.
3
After the examination, we’ll discuss our findings with you, answer any questions, and provide personalised recommendations. This ensures you fully understand your eye health and the steps needed to maintain or improve it.

An eye examination typically takes around 40 minutes. This comprehensive check-up includes assessing your vision, checking for eye health issues, and discussing any vision concerns you may have.
An OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography) scan is a non-invasive imaging test that provides detailed cross-sectional images of the retina, allowing our optometrists to see each of its layers. This advanced technology is crucial for early detection and monitoring of eye conditions such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy, ensuring timely and effective treatment to preserve your vision.
It is recommended to have an eye examination at least once every two years. However, depending on your age, medical history, and any existing eye conditions, our optometrists may suggest more frequent check-ups to ensure your eyes remain healthy and your vision is at its best.
You don't need to do anything special to prepare for your eye examination. Simply come as you are, and our experienced optometrists will take care of the rest, ensuring a thorough and comfortable assessment of your vision and eye health.
Common signs of eye problems include blurred or double vision, persistent eye pain or discomfort, frequent headaches, increased sensitivity to light, and difficulty seeing at night. If you experience any of these symptoms, it's important to schedule an eye examination to identify and address any potential issues promptly.
